Auld lang sain...

Another year, come and gone. Hard to believe that this time last year I had a broken finger, was hoping to date a complete and utter loser, and was as optimisitc as ever.

Not much has changed. Well, minus the hoping to date a complete and utter loser part and the broken finger (its still a little crocked and bares a scare, but its all healed). Other than those two things, I'm still as optimistic as ever.

2005 sort of marked a transitional year in my life. The end of my life as an undergraduate and the beginning of my life as a professional. Student teaching definetely played a huge part in changing me as a person and giving me the confidence I need to go out, get a job, and be the best teacher I can be. I feel so much more confident in my professional life and my ability to lead a fullfilling career. Amazing what a year can do.

My personal life is going well as always. Of course 2005 was marked by the beginnings of many relationships as well as the end of a few. All of which have made me a better human being. I am constantly amazed by the family and friends I have surrounding me. They give me my strength and keep me young. As always, I feel blessed to have all the people I have in my life and think 2006 will be no exception.

Dating wise, well, things are starting to pick up once again. There is a boy in the picture who I think has a lot of potential to be a lot of things. One of them being a significant other for me (no, not marriage, just long term), but, as always, the man upstairs has his own plans, so I will wait it out and see what those are. But, for now, I'll enjoy the many early morning and late night conversations we have and the fact that he likes my butt...

So, yes, 2006 will definetely mark many new beginnings for me and I am ready for each and every one of them. I am open to anything and everything this year can throw at me and know that I will continue to grow and evolve as a person. I've got the support system I need in place and have every opportunity at my fingertips.

Its time to take advantage of all of these things and I am more ready, willing, and prepared than ever.

Here's to 2006! May it be a great one full of new beginnings for everyone!
