Margaret E. Duffner

I just wanted to add a small entry to commemorate the life of Margaret E. (Graham) Gonyon - Duffner. My (Step- this part isn't so important) Grandma.

After four days in the hopsital, in which we were able to talk and laugh with her, Margaret died on Monday. She was surrounded by her adopted family of children and grandchildren prior to her death and, I think, was comforted by the love, support, and high regard we gave so freely to her as she was truley a part of our family.

Her wake is today from five to eight o'clock. Her funeral is tomorrow at ten a.m.

I spent yesterday making picture boards for the funeral home. They came out well and I was amazed at the plethora of pictures that we had of her. Lots and lots. It was hard to choose because each showed a piece of the kind, sweet person that she was so vividly. For someone who only graced our lives for nine years, she sure did touch everyone's lives a great deal.

She became a surrogate Mom to eight children. A surrogate Grandma to those of us who remembered my "real" Grandma and the only Grandma that the youngest grandkids will ever remember. She also became Great Grandma to four beautiful little ones who, though they may not remember her, will be able to look at picture and hear stories of the times that we shared with her.

Please keep my family in your prayers today. Its going to be rough night and day for all of us to say godbye to Margaret, but we know that this is a celebration of a life well and fully lived.
