2004 World Series - 2-0 - Red Sox

Wow. Two games up in the World Series, how awesome is that?

I am so enjoying this series. I know its the World Series and this is the "big one", but its great to be playing against a team that I don't have with a passion. The Yankees games were so stressful because of the long history the two teams have, but playing the Cardinals is kind of nice, seeing as I know very little about them. Really. I know they're a good team and that there is going to be some great baseball played in the next few days, but its just not as stressful as other series have been.

I still want a Sox victory more than anything, but its nice not having anything against the nice people of St. Louis and the Cahhds. Its definetely going to shape up to be some great baseball too I bet, but, for now, go Red Sox!!!!

And while we are on the subject, a friend of mine asked me recently "How are things in the artic tundra (he's @ C of C)?"

My reply:

"Flipping awesome! The Sox are in the World Series, the Patriots have won 21 in a row, and my GPA is going in the toilet as a direct result!"

LoL. Thats not really true, but it kind of is. I've definetely been slacking off majorly since the playoffs began. I think I'll come out of it all right though as I seem to work really well under pressure...just like the Sox seem too! Ha!

No seriously, I just really need to stop leaving things to the last minute like I've been doing as of late and which, really, is not characteristic of my work style at all. Though yesterday I did have a good excuse as I wasn't feeling too well. Yuck. I think the combo of so little sleep over the past couple weeks in addition to other issues caught up to me. I basically slept the entire day and was still able to fall asleep promptly after the game ended.

My day in Boston was fun. I spent way too much money on Red Sox stuff, but came out with a pretty new Damon t-shirt (I really wanted Ortiz, but, go figure, the Big Papi shirts had alreayd been gobbled up! Damn!), so I went for my cutie, Johnny. I also got a pink fleece with a Boston "B" on it for seventy five dollars. I almost choked when I saw that price, but I figured what the hey, I need gear for every day from now until the Series ends, so I might as well invest and not have to do tons of laundry.

I also got my nephew a t-shirt. Oh my god. Those little shirts are so cute. I managed to get him an Ortiz shirt too. Auntie was a littel jealous, but I couldn't help thinking how damned adorable he'd be in his Big Papi shirt. He's actually been saying "homerun" before every game, with some coaxing from his Dad of course, but so far so good. We'll have to keep that practice up for the rest of the series.

And speaking of little quirky things we Boston fans are doing, I've got this shirt, a pink Boston one, and pajama bottoms that I started wearing the night the Sox won their first ALCS game. I've worn it religiously since then and the outcome has been pretty darn good since. Though, I face a dilemma now as I can't wash it and take all of the luck out of it, so I've got to leave it dirty. Pretty nasty really, I know, but I did throw it in the dryer the other day with a dryer sheet to freshen it up some, so its all good, and I'm not THAT stinky.

Makes me even more glad I invested in some more Red Sox clothes for off days. ;)

Okay, I seriously need to go work on this takehome test. You know, the one due tomorrow that I haven't even started yet. Hmmm...I'm on top of things.

I also need to update with an entry that isn't about the Red Sox, but that probably won't happen anytime soon...
