Alas, it is time to return to normal life...
As ecstatic as I still am over the Red Sox World Series victory, I suppose it is time to take down my very happy entry and move on to greener pastures.
I do this grudgingly, mind you, and am still just beginning to come down off of the happy cloud I was inhabiting after their amazing victory.
Oh and I must mention, that, yes, I did attend the Rolling Rally in Boston the Saturday after the win and it was tons of fun. I freaked out a little bit when I saw Johnny Damon leaning out of his duckboat and looking very Jesus-like. But, he looked damned fine and he was one of my World Series heroes, so how could I not?
Other highlights included seeing Manny with a "Jeter is playing golf today. This is better!" sign. I couldn't agree more. Oh and speaking of....
What do you call twenty five guys watching the World Series?
I'll have the answer for you at the end of this entry.
So, yes, the rally was lots of fun. Got to see my great team and scream and shout and enjoy all the fun that comes along with finally being able to celebrate after eighty six years. It was great. I really enjoyed myself and sort of wished that I could relive the victory every day, but then it wouldn't be as special I suppose.
Okay, seriously, time for non Red Sox chatter. School is going well. My GPA may have suffered a bit as a result of the recent excitement, but I'm rebounding well. I had two tests in the past two days and did well on both I think. Well, one I know I did well on as I got the highest grade in the class and the other I'm pretty sure I did equally as well on.
Projects have abounded as of late, but I'm staying on top of those for the most part. I really don't have a choice when I'm up at school for hours on end between classes. But, its a good thing, as then I don't feel guilty about not doing stuff on the weekends really. I do have a number of things due in the next few weeks, but thats to be expected because it is nearing the end of the semester afterall. I do think I'll be able to complete everything just fine and not be too stressed. Overall, this semester is shaping up to be much less hectic and intense than last, which is a relief and, I have a feeling, only a calm before the storm of the two I have left to come.
Student teaching and the completion of my Psychology major loom in the near future as well as the prospect of getting a job and working. I can't believe how quickly this college thing is flying by and am kind of shocked by the idea that I'll be entering the work force sooner than I'd like. I plan on jumping right back into school and getting my masters, but I've got to get some classroom experience as I do that. Oy vey. Lots to look forward to and to be somewhat nervous about...but, hey, its the good type of nervous expectation.
In other news my nephew is growing like a little weed. He's talking so much now and so much fun to be around. I took him to see The Wiggles last Thursday and it was grand! He just sort of sat in his parent's lap staring at the stage in awe. It was funny. There was a bit of dancing, but for the most part, I don't think he could really believe he was there. LoL. That little bugger, he's so cute and funny and to think that the possibility of another little one is upon us all. Pregnancy fever has swept through our home and we are all waiting anxiously for Karen to announce she is expecting. Its only a matter of time, I'm sure, but I can't even imagine having another one to love and cuddle. It makes me all warm and fuzzy on the inside! :)
All righty, well I should find some more constructive things to do while I'm up at school. I've still got another two and a half hours before my Child Growth class though. Grrrr. I'd love to take a nap right now more than anything though.
Okay, yay for semi non Red Sox entries and news about other aspects of my life.
Oh!
The Yankees.
